What’s your mission? Son Care Foundation’s mission is fostering hope, empowering and saving lives with practical mentorship and the healing power of the human-canine bond. We have five programs and all of them fulfill our mission. Alpha Academy helps young men and parolees build a life map to plan for a successful future. New Life K9s provides service dogs to veterans and first responders, who are struggling with PTSD, to help reduce the number of veteran suicides. New Life K9s also helps rehabilitate incarcerated men in state prisons through dog training. Gentle Touch Pet Training, Mission Cars, and Thousand Hills Pet Resort directly support our nonprofits by providing 100% of their profits to saving the lives of our Alpha Academy students and our New Life K9s veterans, first responders, and incarcerated population.

What’s unique about the Son Care Foundation? Son Care Foundation is unique because we have five programs and three of them appear to operate as regular small businesses. The reason for this is because our founder, Jack, believes in the importance of financial sustainability to ensure our programs continue to save lives for many years into the future. Not only do our programs sustain each other, they also help the community.

What do you attribute to your success? We attribute our success to all of the dedicated people, whether employees, board members, clients, donors, supporters, or volunteers, that believe in our mission and work hard every day to make a difference in our community.

What advice would you give someone interested in supporting your mission?  Anyone looking to support our mission or learn more can contact us at 805-596-0409 or go to our website.
